Benefits of Cloning: Introduction

Imagine if someone you loved was in a horrible car accident, leaving them with a severely damaged organ. The doctors said it could take years to receive an organ donation, and that time wasn’t an option, that person was going to die. Wouldn’t you try and do anything you possibly could to save that loved ones life? Just exactly how far would you go? With cloning, saving the life of a loved one could be made possible.

When we hear the word ‘cloning’, the first thing we think of is what we see in the movies; exact replicas of people running around and destroying the world. But when scientists say the word cloning, that’s not exactly what they have in mind. Cloning can be used as a technology, in many positive ways, allowing advancements in medicine, healing, and disease treating. A technology that could save lives? I would say that is a pretty positive addition to the scientific world. With such an amazing technology, why are people with very little knowledge on cloning so quick to judge?

WP4 Topic: Benefits of Cloning

Cloning could be a huge breakthrough for scientists in the world of medicine and to help finding a cure for diseases along with many other reasons. With outsiders knowing very little knowledge of the positive factors that could come from cloning, people are quick to judge. This paper will analyze the benefits of cloning and the impact that it could have in the world of science. Therefore, I will give examples of the many benefits of cloning, and what scientists have discovered so far.

Key question: "Why are concerned citizens against cloning without knowing the benefits that could come from it?"

Sub-questions: "What are the benefits of cloning?" "How can cloning change the scientific world?" "How far have scientists come in the world of cloning since the topic first came about?"

Bringing Down The Bullies

Hello bloggers, my name is Katelyn Perkins and I am currently attending Purdue North Central for business. I was recently asked about an important issue that my community, along with myself, is facing at the moment. The first thing that came to mind was bullying. While bullying has always been a problem worldwide, it has increased greatly in the past few years. Bullying occurs all day long everyday, and we are always a victim whether we know it or not. Unfortunately, bullying can lead to many problems such as insecurities, that later on cause people to partake in drugs or other bad habits, and death. We hear a lot of stories about kids and teenagers committing suicide because they can't handle being bullied anymore. I think it is time for Communities to step up and take control. Most the time bullying occurs either at school or on social networking websites. A way that we could help is by saying something or even better, doing something about it if we see this occurring. Teachers especially should keep an eye out for bullies. School counselors are always willing to help students in need, that's what they are there for. Not only is bullying dangerous but it causes kids to think that violence is a good way to fix problems; violence is never the answer no matter the situation.
