Bringing Down The Bullies

Hello bloggers, my name is Katelyn Perkins and I am currently attending Purdue North Central for business. I was recently asked about an important issue that my community, along with myself, is facing at the moment. The first thing that came to mind was bullying. While bullying has always been a problem worldwide, it has increased greatly in the past few years. Bullying occurs all day long everyday, and we are always a victim whether we know it or not. Unfortunately, bullying can lead to many problems such as insecurities, that later on cause people to partake in drugs or other bad habits, and death. We hear a lot of stories about kids and teenagers committing suicide because they can't handle being bullied anymore. I think it is time for Communities to step up and take control. Most the time bullying occurs either at school or on social networking websites. A way that we could help is by saying something or even better, doing something about it if we see this occurring. Teachers especially should keep an eye out for bullies. School counselors are always willing to help students in need, that's what they are there for. Not only is bullying dangerous but it causes kids to think that violence is a good way to fix problems; violence is never the answer no matter the situation.
