WP4 Topic: Benefits of Cloning

Cloning could be a huge breakthrough for scientists in the world of medicine and to help finding a cure for diseases along with many other reasons. With outsiders knowing very little knowledge of the positive factors that could come from cloning, people are quick to judge. This paper will analyze the benefits of cloning and the impact that it could have in the world of science. Therefore, I will give examples of the many benefits of cloning, and what scientists have discovered so far.

Key question: "Why are concerned citizens against cloning without knowing the benefits that could come from it?"

Sub-questions: "What are the benefits of cloning?" "How can cloning change the scientific world?" "How far have scientists come in the world of cloning since the topic first came about?"

  1. This topic would be really interesting. It'd be really interesting to hear your take on whether it should be done, and also interesting to hear what new research has been done in this area.

  2. This is going to be super interesting. I think that cloning animals would be good for food and things like that or helping endangered species. I think that cloning humans isn't a good thing though. I would love to hear about all of the benefits that you can get on this topic. Think about it: Human clones that make up an entire army that plans to take over the world. Total government conspiracy.. Whoa.

  3. Cloning could definitely extend our life expectancies and make a huge difference in medical sciences. Since this is your topic I assume you've seen the movie The Island, it raises what I thought was kind of a weird moral question if we did start cloning people, but would we really create entire living humans like that or just parts that are needed?

  4. This will be a good read. Are you going to be discussing human cloaning at all in this paper or just the possible benefits of cloaning animals? Also, are you going to incorporate both sides arguments into your paper, or will you simply be sticking to the "pro" side of the arguement? Either way, this is a good way to end the semester.

  5. This could be pretty cool to read about. There is benefits and consequences to this though and it will be interesting to see how you cover that.

  6. I think starting with the benefits and limiting yourself to that issue would be good enough for your project. Asking the question about why people are against it will require you to do some primary research with interviews or surveys and this class isn't really set up for that kind of research.
